Continuing from the Superman theme of the previous entry (despite the Narnia themed title) I've overcome impossible odds to realize the obvious about half an hour ago. What mighty revelation has been bestowed upon me?
The problem of the phonon-qt7 engine not playing audio (sometimes) wasn't because it did not understand kio (as I had thought earlier today). The problem is that any urls with spaces (and possibly other exotic characters) in them aren't being translated so that the backend can understand.

Spaces. I've been tearing my hair out (not really) for a week now because of spaces. *sigh* At least now I can concentrate on finding a fix and wait for the next thing to break. If my calculations are correct this should be the cover manager.

Result: My slider slides again

P.S. by concentrating on finding a fix I mean I can concentrate on bugging OTHER PEOPLE to find a fix. Leave me alone so I can sleep. Mmmm. Breathing is fun (don't ask).
